Job Overview
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate filling and packing equipment, load materials onto machinery and load cases and kegs onto pallets for shipment.
- Drive a fork truck and load material and product onto trailers.
- Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), safety and sanitation practices are always followed.
- Conduct process quality control check.
- Ensure accurate time stamping and labeling occurs for all product.
- Clean production lines, work areas or other areas of the facility in order to maintain strict food plant sanitation standards.
- Maintain production safety and quality requirements.
- Must be available to work all shifts on any day of the week, including weekends and holidays, for 5-7 days per week.
Shifts are as follows:
- Midnights – 11PM to 7AM
- Days – 7AM to 3PM (for training only)
- Afternoons – 3PM to 11PM
- Some shifts may be up to 12 hours per day
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be willing and able to work any weekday or weekend shift (midnights, days, afternoons) for duration of Seasonal period (May 1- Sept 30). *exceptions will be made for students returning to school, please notify the scheduler at orientation.
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates.
- Ability to continuously stand, bend twist and lift items up to 50 pounds required.
- Production, manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
Conditions of seasonal employment are as follows:
- Each employee will be limited to 1,000 hours during the stated period.
- Training will begin on one of the following dates: March 7th or March 28th.
- Training hours will not count toward the 1,000 hour limit.
- Seasonal employees do not work toward seniority.
- Seasonal employees will not be used on the day shift or offered 12 hour shifts when regulars want to work.
- Seasonal employees will be paid $19.50 per hour. The appropriate overtime rate will be applicable after 40 hours/week.
- Seasonal employees are not eligible for any benefits.
- The order of scheduling weekend work will be: regulars, weekenders, and then seasonals. In the event of a draft, Seasonals are drafted first.
- Seasonal employees must be available for a full week for orientation. Orientation will take place on the daytime shift (7am-3pm)
- Seasonal employees must be available to train 40 hrs. /week. Training can be completed on any shift- (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, or 11pm-7am) and is dependent on trainer availability.
- Seasonal employees are not guaranteed 40 hours of work per week, every week.
